Mudslide Danger in NorCal, but Scattered Showers, Cool Temps in Southland

Expect temperatures in the low to mid-60s on Sunday in most of the region, with scattered showers

Heavy rain left the Bay Area soggy and at risk of mudslides, but Southern California is expected to fare much better.

Thousands were without power as wind and rain lashed the Sacramento area, but storms that hit the north Saturday night and Sunday morning were not expected to impact the Los Angeles area as much as previously feared.

Instead, cool, overcast weather and some showers are expected in much of the area. Temperatures will linger in the 50s in the mountain areas, and in the low to mid-60s elsewhere on Sunday.

Rain is not expected in the desert areas.

The sun will begin to peek through in parts of the region on Monday, but some clouds will linger.

Sunny weather is expected to return by Friday, and with it temperatures in the 70s.

High surf advisories are in effect for the coastal areas.
