Mysterious “Oversized Load” Delivered to Disneyland

Reps for the Happiest Place on Earth are keeping mum about what's underneath the covering, but it may have to do with the park's upcoming 60th anniversary celebration

At least two giant packages wrapped in aluminum foil were delivered to one of Disneyland's back gates under the cover of early morning darkness this week.

The deliveries — labeled "oversize load" — were escorted by multiple California Highway Patrol vehicles early Monday and Tuesday.

Representatives for the Happiest Place on Earth are keeping mum about what's underneath the foil, but it could have something to do with the upcoming celebration surrounding the 60th anniversary of Walt Disney's original theme park in Anaheim.

Video footage taken by news photographers showed a parade of vehicles escorting a truck carrying the peculiar-looking parcel past Disney Way and onto Disneyland Drive in Anaheim.

The 60th anniversary, dubbed the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration, begins May 22 at 6 a.m. with a "fun-filled 24-hour party," according to a park statement.

The Anaheim theme park will host three new nighttime shows in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure: Disneyland Forever, World of Color – Celebrate! and Disney Paint the Night Parade.

Prizes and experiences including a Cinderella glass slipper, a private party in Fantasyland and a tailgate party in Cars Land will be rewarded daily to Disneyland Resort visitors, a Disneyland statement said.
