Mystery Object Damages Couple's Windshield on 101 Freeway

The incident comes less than a week after someone threw chunks of concrete at cars on the 101-Freeway in Silverlake.

A mystery object slammed into a couple's car, damaging the windshield, Tuesday morning as they drove on the northbound 101 Freeway in Encino.

At approximately 5:50 a.m., David Block and his girlfriend, Stefany Baclaan, were exiting the freeway on Balboa Boulevard when they suddenly heard a loud pop.

"I looked up really quick and I saw glass all over my body," Baclaan said.

Baclaan, who was seated on the passenger's side, asked Block if she had been shot or if she was injured.

No injuries were reported and Block's windshield has been replaced.

"Nothing I saw was flying at me so the only thing I could think of was that something had dropped, fell or got thrown," Block said.

This incident comes less than a week after someone threw chunks of concrete at cars on the 101 Freeway in Silver Lake.

Investigators are still seeking the person responsible for the Silverlake incident.
