Russell Brand Released After Arrest in LA Airport Fracas

Paparazzo reportedly makes citizen's arrest of "Get Him to the Greek" star

It wasn't Russell Brand's day at the airport.

The British comedian and “Get Him to the Greek” star was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport Friday for allegedly fighting with paparazzi, who were snapping photos of him and fiancée Katy Perry, according to reports.

Brand, 35, was taken into custody and received a misdemeanor charge of simple battery with bail set at $20,000, The Assocated Press reported. The actor was later released on his own recognizance, said an airport police spokeswoman.

According to  previous reports, Brand allegedly began shoving celebrity shutterbugs in Delta terminal when en route to Las Vegas with Perry.

A paparazzo then placed the actor under citizen’s arrest until airport police arrived, E! reported.

Brand’s rep confirmed to the gossip site that “an altercation” occurred.

Perry Tweeted in response to the sitiuation: "If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me."
