It was a long wait, but police finally got their man Friday in Van Nuys.

The subject, wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Walgreens store in North Hills, was located on the roof of the Budweiser plant in Van Nuys. For more than an hour, he walked around on the roof as he talked on the phone.

Police waited it out, and the man eventually slid down a ladder and surrendered.

The man surrendered to police at about 8:15 a.m. at the commercial building near Haskell Avenue and Roscoe Boulevard.

No injuries were reported in the robbery, which was reported about 6:30 a.m. in the 15300 block of Nordhoff Street, said Officer Norma Eisenman of the  Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations office.

Officers sought two or three other subjects who fled the crime scene. Two men matching the descriptions of the subjects were detained in North Hills, but they were later released.
