Hundreds of people were arrested over the weekend at Nocturnal Wonderland, a massive electronic music festival attended by more than 25,000 people, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
The three-day festival now in its 21st year, typically houses five stages and has featured artists like Calvin Harris, Steve Aoki, and Tiesto.
This year’s Nocturnal Wonderland at the San Manuel Ampitheater on 2575 Glen Helen Parkway featured a camping area. During the initial screening process where attendees enter the camping area, they are searched, photographed, asked for a valid ID and asked to show proof of tickets to attend. No arrests were made during the camping check-in process.
When the main gates opened Saturday at 4 p.m. and all attendees were allowed in, 141 people were arrested for either possessing drugs, being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, resisting arrest, or assault and battery. One person was arrested for indecent exposure.
On Friday, the sheriff's department reported 111 arrests for similar crimes. A deputy suffered minor injuries during one arrest, according to a department statement.
One festival attendee was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing into a motorcycle officer. The officer was not injured.
Sunday's arrest numbers were not immediately available.

The event sponsor Insomniac hired extra law enforcement to patrol the area.
Deputies working at the festival also had to respond to a fire off the 15 Freeway north of the amphitheater. The 20-acre brush fire was 100-percent contained early Monday morning.
