Students Hospitalized After BB Gun Shooting in Sun Valley

Some five people, including four students, were taken to a hospital Friday after a BB gun shooting in Sun Valley, authorities said.

Authorities responded to the 9100 block of Telfair Avenue, where Sun Valley High School is located, around 3:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department. 

Students and a community member "were allegedly struck by BB gun pellets," according to a statement from Los Angeles School Police. "They were struck off campus and none of them suffered serious injuries."

The students, who were all male, and a 34-year-old man were taken to a hospital, fire officials said. 

The school was not placed on lockdown. Parents were advised to access the parking lot through Allegheny Street.

Los Angeles School Police were investigating the incident Friday afternoon.
