Water Gushes 50+ Feet in the Air From Sheered Hydrant

    Nov. 7, 2012: An apparently sheered fire hydrant sent water gushing twice dozens of feet in the air near Nordhoff Street and Topanga Canyon in Chatsworth.

    What appeared to be a sheered fire hydrant in Chatsworth was gushing water more than 50 feet into the air Wednesday night.

    The geyser was gushing near Nordhoff Street and Topanga Canyon, near the Nantucket Creek apartment complex.

    Fire crews were on scene. It was not immediately clear what caused the incident.
