Anaheim Groping Alarms Residents

A teen girl was groped during a Saturday morning jog next to an Anaheim elementary school. Residents said they'd be on the lookout. Janet Kwak reports from Anaheim for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m.

Authorities are asking for help finding a man who groped a teenage girl near an elementary school in Anaheim on Saturday morning.

The 14-year-old girl was jogging with her sister at 9 a.m. when a man approached and grabbed her groin and buttocks then ran away, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The victim and witness said they would be able to identify the suspect, according to the Sheriff's Department press release, which included a sketch of the man.

Capt. Bob Peterson said the man was Hispanic of about 30 years in age, 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds .

The incident happened at Cerrito Avenue and Gilbert Street (map), near Salk Elementary School.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect is asked to call the investigators at (714) 647-4067 or at (714) 628-7170. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at (714) TIP-OCCS.
