Off-Duty LAPD Officer Shoots Suspect

An off-duty LAPD officer shot someone in Crenshaw on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

Police were investigating on Friday the circumstances surrounding a shooting of a man by an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer in Crenshaw.

The officer-involved shooting was reported at 6:20 p.m. in the 3900 block of Westside Avenue, near 39th Street, in Leimert Park, said Officer Cleon Joseph of the LAPD.

Details were unclear, but early reports indicate the incident included a possible collision involving a pedestrian, Joseph said.

The condition of the man who was shot was not immediately known.

No other details were immediately available
