One Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting in Hollywood



    Police vehicles at the scene of an officer-involved shooting Thursday in Hollywood.

    One person was killed when shots were fired as officers responded Thursday morning to a domestic violence call in the in Hollywood.

    The shooting occurred at about 7:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Whitley Avenue (map).

    There were no reports of injuries involving officers, who were responding to call regarding a domestic violence assault with a weapon.

    "Officers were met with the victim," said Officer Richard French, of the LAPD. "The victim directed the officer in the direction of the suspect, at which point an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect is dead."

    Details regarding what led to the shooting and whether the subject was armed were not immediately available.
