Investigators Arrest 2 Men, Seize 20 Pounds of Meth in Monthslong Investigation

Authorities said the meth had an estimated street value of $729,600.

Officers arrested two men and seized 20 pounds of methamphetamine last month, ending a meth trafficking investigation which lasted five months, authorities said Saturday.

On September 20, investigators "negotiated for the purchase" of 20 pounds of meth, and arranged for it to be delivered the 5800 block of Calle Real in Goleta, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators arrested Guillermo Rea, 27, and Victor Ruvalcaba-Romero, 36, both of Goleta, when they delivered the meth, authorities said.

They seized over 20 pounds of meth, "with an estimated street value of over $729,600," Santa Barbara County Sheriffs said in a statement Saturday.

Both men were booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for the transportation and sales of methamphetamine and for the possession of methamphetamine for sales.

The investigation was completed by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Special Investigations Bureau, Santa Barbara Regional Crime Abatement Team, and the California Department of Justice.
