Officers Fatally Shoot Man During Domestic Violence Call in North Hills

A man, allegedly armed with two knives, was killed by police gunfire Saturday night in North Hills, officials said.

Police responded to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex in the 15000 Parthenia Street at about 9:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

When police entered the building, they found a woman on the floor.

The armed man approached the officers who opened fire, LAPD said. The man was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was taken to a hospital in unknown condition. No officers were hurt.

An investigation is ongoing and no further details were immediately available.
