One Dead in Angeles Crest Highway Crash

One person was killed in a crash when a car plummeted about 200 feet down a cliff along Angeles Crest Highway in the Angeles National Forest.

Authorities discovered a body was found a short distance away from the car.

Caltrans crews spotted the car about 1:45 p.m. at mile marker 31-10 in an area known as "Sack Wall," said Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Brian Riley.

At first check, no one was found inside the car. The body
was later found nearby, he said.

California Highway Patrol investigators were on scene trying to figure out how the crash occurred.
