Woman Arrested After Car Plows Into Taco Stand in Boyle Heights, Kills 1

A 34-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she plowed her car into a Boyle Heights taco stand Sunday night, killing one person and injuring nine others, authorities said.

Mariel Rosas of South Gate was traveling westbound on 4th Street when she jumped the curb and lost control, striking multiple people at the taco stand near Clarence Street before 9:45 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollenbeck station.

Cell phone video acquired by NBC4 showed multiple people rushing to the aid of a man trapped under the car, but the man did not survive. 

"All I heard was a big crash and the lady was screaming, "Help! Help!" said Janine Martinez.

Three of the nine injured were taken to the hospital, including a a man in his 50s who suffered a broken leg, and a woman in her 20s, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The taco stand owner said he was related to the three victims, who are all family members. Their conditions were unknown. 

Rosas was arrested and faces possible charges of gross-vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, police said. 

It wasn't immediately clear what led to the wreck.
