A fire that started on the roof of a Stanton home and quickly spread into the attic was one of three Orange County authorities believe was caused by illegal fireworks.
The Stanton fire was reported at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in a home in the 8600 block of Lullaby Lane, said the Orange County Fire Authority's Captain Steve Concialdi. The flames were out at 10:10 p.m., Concialdi said.
Four people were displaced, said OCFA Captain Larry Kurtz.
At about the same time as the Stanton fire was reported, another fire started in two palm trees outside a two-story, multifamily building in the 800 block of South Townsend Street in Santa Ana, Concialdi said. The flames quickly spread to the structure, he said. Thirty OCFA firefighters put out the flames at 9:50 p.m.
A one-acre brush fire was reported at 10:45 p.m. on a hillside at Camino Jalisco and Caminito Arroyo Seco in Laguna Hills, Concialdi said.
Firefighters put out the fire at about 11:15 p.m., he said. Investigators found illegal fireworks at the scene.
