Overnight Closures Will Shut Down Arroyo Seco Parkway This Weekend

The northbound side will be closed Saturday morning, the southbound side on Sunday morning

A portion of the 110 Freeway between downtown Los Angeles and Pasadena will be closed for eight hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Caltrans is closing the northbound section of the curving three-lane freeway, also known as the Arroyo Seco Parkway, from midnight Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday. That closure will be in effect from Avenue 60 to Orange Grove Avenue (see map).

The southbound side will be closed from midnight Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday from Avenue 52 to Avenue 60 (see map).

The closures are needed for a “slab replacement project,” Caltrans said in a news release.

The freeway is designated a federal scenic byway. Opened in 1940, it was considered the first freeway built in the western United States.
