Two men and four women were inside a car when it rolled, killing three, in Oxnard Wednesday, authorities confirmed.
The crash occurred at 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Harbor Boulevard at Wooley Road, the Oxnard Fire Department said.
The SUV was traveling southbound on Harbor, just south of Wooley, when for an unknown reason, the car drove up and on the median before striking a tree.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and the third died later en route to the hospital.
Residents who live nearby said the area is prone to these kinds of crashes.
Authorities had not yet released the identities of the victims.
Fire department officials described the SUV’s occupants as "young adults," and said two of the victims killed were female, and one was a male.
