A 20-something man apparently trying to flag down a party bus was pinned underneath it and severely injured Sunday, a traffic investigator said.
The vehicle was in the 1700 block of North McCadden Place, near Yucca Street, preparing to drop off party-goers, when the man wound up underneath it, Los Angeles police Officer Chris Fisher of the West Traffic Division said.
Los Angeles firefighters rescued the man from under the vehicle and took him to a hospital, where he underwent surgery, Fisher said.
Police were unable to find any witnesses, but Fisher said he was near the rear of the bus when he went down.
