Nightly Closures Set for 134, 5 Freeways

Lanes, ramps and connectors along the 5 and 134 Freeways will be closed overnight this week as part of a $57.8 million improvement project to ease congestion along these freeways and Magnolia Boulevard in Burbank.

Some 2.7 miles of carpool lanes will be built in each direction. The project, which is funded by Proposition C, began in March 2011 and is expected to be completed in 2014.

Here’s a list of the closures taking place through Thursday, which are subject to change:

Northbound 5 Freeway connector to eastbound 134 Freeway will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Southbound 5 Freeway connector to eastbound 134 Freeway from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Westbound 134 Freeway connector to northbound 5 Freeway from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Westbound 134 Freeway northbound and southbound San Fernando Road on ramp from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Northbound 5 Freeway Western Avenue eastbound and westbound on ramp from 7 p.m. to 6 am. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Northbound 5 Freeway Western Avenue eastbound westbound off ramp from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Southbound 5 Freeway Western Avenue eastbound and westbound on ramps from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Southbound 5 Freeway Western Avenue westbound and eastbound off-ramps from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Northbound 5 Freeway Eastbound and westbound Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue Off Ramp from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Southbound 5 Freeway eastbound and westbound Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue off ramp from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Southbound 5 Freeway eastbound and westbound Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue on ramp from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Northbound 5 Freeway eastbound and westbound Olive Avenue/Verdugo Avenue on ramp from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Northbound 5 Freeway eastbound and westbound Alameda Avenue off and on ramp from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Southbound 5 Freeway eastbound and westbound Alameda Avenue off and on ramp from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Southbound 5 Freeway eastbound and westbound Burbank Boulevard on ramp from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Northbound 5 Freeway Westbound Colorado Boulevard on ramp from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Northbound 5 Freeway from Colorado Boulevard to 134 Freeway up to three lanes from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and up to four lanes from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Northbound 5 Freeway from 134 Freeway to Burbank Boulevard up to two lanes from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and up to three lanes from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Southbound 5 Freeway from Burbank Boulevard to 134 Freeway up to two lanes from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and up to three lanes from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m.
