Pileup on 405 Snarls Traffic in Westwood

A pileup involving as many as seven vehicles and a motorcycle snarled traffic for more than an hour in southbound lanes of the San Diego (405) Freeway on Saturday night, authorities said.

It was unclear how many people were injured in the collisions, or how severely they were injured.

The crash occurred just before 10 p.m. on the southbound 405 near the Montana Avenue exit. All southbound lanes were closed except for the HOV lane for more than an hour. All lanes were reopened at 11:20 p.m.

Additional details were not released Saturday night.
