Police are investing a possible assault in Placentia after a witness called 911 to report a man was beaten and kidnapped Wednesday, April 2.

Investigators are asking for the public's help after receiving a 911 call regarding a man who was severely beaten and kidnapped Wednesday night in Placentia.

A witness reported seeing a group of men beating another man then dragging him to a nearby car where they forcibly pushed him into the vehicle before speeding away, according to a statement released by the Placentia Police Department.

Officers discovered a large pool of blood on the ground when they arrived at the 1100 block of E. Imperial Highway shortly after 10 p.m. where the assault allegedly took place.

"All we have, definitely,  is some type of violence occurred," said Lt. Eric Point, a spokesman for the Placentia Police Department.

Detectives were working several leads to determine the identity of the victim and possible motive for the attack, according to the statement.

The Placentia Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call 714-993-8146.
