A man was shot and wounded in Pacoima this morning and another was arrested after officers located him in a house nearby, police said.

The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. in the 11000 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard, said Sgt. Bernard Fitchpatrick of the Los Angeles Police Department's Mission Station.

The victim, a man about 30 years old, was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening wound to a lower extremity, Fitchpatrick said.

The suspect, who is approximately 25 years old, was arrested after police located him in a house near the shooting scene, he said.

Investigators do not believe the shooting was gang-related, Fitchpatrick said.

"From what we know right now, the victim and suspect know each other," he said.
