Man With Dragon Tattoo Sought in Attempted Kidnapping of 9-Year-Old Boy

El Monte police say the man has a large dragon tattoo on the back of his head.

El Monte police were searching Monday for a man with a dragon tattoo on the back of his head who allegedly tried to abduct a 9-year-old boy in front of an elementary school.

The incident occurred Thursday in broad daylight when a man attempted to take a 9-year-old boy outside La Primaria School, according to a news release from the El Monte Police Department.

The boy was waiting to be picked up by his mother outside the school around 2 p.m., when the would-be kidnapper allegedly tried to forcefully take the boy, grabbing his wrist before the boy broke away. The man then ran eastbound down Ramona Boulevard, police said.

The man was described as being between 6 feet, to 2 to 3 inches tall, in his 30s, with pock marks on his face, a large dragon tattoo on the back of his head, "Maria" inked onto his neck and a skull on his chest.

Anyone with information on the man's whereabouts is asked to call the El Monte Police Department at 626-580-2114.
