Police Chase Ends in East Los Angeles With Arrests

Three teenagers were arrested Thursday after a pursuit that started in El Monte and wound its way along streets and freeways ended in East Los Angeles, authorities said.

The chase of a possibly stolen gray Honda Accord started in El Monte at 6:43 p.m.

The driver managed to keep going despite several PIT maneuvers, including two that sent parts flying from the car.

Another PIT maneuver finally brought the pursuit to an end about 7:30 p.m. at Flickett and Inez streets in Boyle Heights, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The driver, 16, and two passengers, both 15, surrendered to police.

Neighbors watching on TV looked out windows when they realized it was coming their way and the California Highway Patrol ordered them to stay inside.

One woman was grateful her parked SUV was not hit.
