Driver, Passenger Surrender After Stolen Range Rover Pursuit

A driver and passenger were taken into custody Tuesday night after stealing a Range Rover and leading a brief chase in Orange County.

Police started pursuing the driver near the San Gabriel Valley area at the eastbound 60 Freeway. The vehicle was stolen with its keys still in it.

The Range Rover drove to speeds up to 80 mph on the freeway.

Officers performed a PIT maneuver on the Range Rover, causing it to swerve and drive over the curb.

There was a brief standoff before police fired into the vehicle's window. The passenger got out of the car with his hands up and was taken into custody.

Soon after, the driver surrendered and struggled with officers before he was handcuffed and taken into custody.

No further details were immediately available.
