An attempted murder suspect who fled from police was seriously injured after crashing his vehicle on the 210 Freeway early Thursday morning, police said.
Around 12:30 a.m., Azusa police found the suspect who was wanted for an attempted murder in South Gate around 12:30 a.m. The suspect lead police on a pursuit onto the 210 Freeway, driving eastbound against traffic in the westbound direction, according to the Southgate Police Department.
The suspect crashed into a vehicle on the 210 Freeway in the Glendora area. The suspect then fled the vehicle on foot in the eastbound lanes and was struck by a sedan, according to the Southgate Police Department.
The suspect suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
Both sides of the 210 Freeway at the 57 Freeway were shutdown, including the onramp from Lone Hill Avenue to the westbound 210 Freeway.
All lanes were reopened around 7 a.m.
