Woman Fights Off Huntington Beach Attacker

The man took off with the victim's purse after he tried to assault her, police say

Huntington Beach police are asking for the public's help to find the person who tried to sexually assault a woman earlier this month.

The attack happened about midnight Sept. 10 near Beach Boulevard and Edinger Avenue, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The woman fought off the attacker, but he ran away with her purse, police said.

Investigators described him as a Hispanic man with a light or tan complexion, about 26 to 32 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slender build.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a baggy white T-shirt, and a white baseball cap. He possibly had short black hair and a mustache, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 714-375-5066. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227).
