Police arrested a car theft suspect who led officers on a pursuit into East Los Angeles on Monday.
The chase began about 3 p.m. in the area of Mission Road and the 101 Freeway in Boyle Heights, and ended a short time later when the driver pulled into a neighborhood in the 1000 block of South Downey Road in East Los Angeles and ran off, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers set up a perimeter for the search. The man, described as 20 to 25 years old, was taken into custody about 4:30 p.m. with the help of police dogs.
