Police Search for Armed Man in Glendale

Police were searching for an armed man who evaded police Wednesday after he reportedly refused to leave a party in Glendale, according to the Glendale Police Department.

The incident was reported around 12 a.m. in the 500 block of Alexander Street after witnesses said they told the man to leave a party after he brandished a handgun, according to the Glendale Police Department.

When police arrived, officers noticed the man hiding behind a vehicle. The subject then fled and ran behind a backyard, police said.

Police set up a perimeter and were conducting a yard-to-yard search for the individual with the assistance of SWAT members. Police combed the neighborhood and deployed flash bombs.

Officials said they were not certain if the subject was still in the neighborhood but took extra measures as a precaution.

No injuries were reported.
