Police on Thursday were looking for a UCLA student who has been missing since the weekend.

The LAPD is searching for David John Goeser, 22, in the wooded canyon and trail areas in Pacific Palisades where his car was found late Wednesday night.

Officer Sara Faden said the LAPD has sent several officers and dogs to the area near Sunset Boulevard and Los Liones Canyon, including bloodhounds that search for living people as well as cadavers.

A community policing officer patrolling the area last night found Goeser’s white Toyota Corolla in a parking lot leading to the canyons and trails in the area of Los Liones, she said.

Goeser was last seen by his roommates on Sunday morning at about 10 a.m., police said in a press release. His family had not heard from him for a week at that point.

“According to family members Goeser is under a doctor’s care and in need of regular medication,” police said. “They are extremely concerned for his welfare.”

Goeser is 5 feet 11 inches tall and slim, weighing about 160 pounds, police said. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the LAPD missing persons unit at (213) 996-1800.
