Police asked for the public's help to identify a man who tried to sexually assault a jogger in Huntington Beach last week.

A woman was jogging near Huntington Village Lane and Center Avenue (map) on Aug. 28 when she noticed a man was following her. She ran toward her apartment, but the man shoved her to the ground from behind and tried to sexually assault her, according to a statement from the Huntington Beach Police Department.

She managed to escape, but not before the man ripped her shirt.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect from the composite sketch or has any information about the incident can contact Huntington Beach Detective Tunstall at 714-536-5995.
