Teen Boy Arrested in Shooting Death at Pomona Residence

A teen boy was arrested Monday in the shooting death of a 69-year-old man inside a Pomona residence.

Police received a call at 12:06 a.m. from someone who said a shooting had occurred at in the 100 block of West Second Street, but the caller would not provide further information, said Pomona police Lt. M. Perez. The caller was likely the 17-year-old boy who lives at the home, police said.

Arriving officers discovered a man with gunshot wounds inside the residence, Perez said. He died at the scene.

The 17-year-old boy who called police was arrested on suspicion of murder, police said.

Details regarding the relationship between the two individuals were not immediately available. It was not immediately clear whether the victim also lived at the home.
