Transformer Explosion Prompts Fire, Downed Power Lines

Dec. 27, 2012: Utility workers respond to a transformer explosion in Pomona.

A mobile home park was evacuated Thursday after a transformer explosion prompted a fire and downed power lines in Pomona.

The incident happened about 8:30 a.m. near 250 N. Clark Ave., between Price Street and Holt Avenue.

"It's so scary, man. I woke up this morning, like 'what's going on?'" said resident Pedro Barajas.

No injuries were reported and the fire appeared to be contained.
