Authorities responded to a shooting at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday night. Beverly Hills police on Saturday said the 10:50 p.m. incident was a murder-suicide that left two dead.
Beverly Hills police on Saturday were investigating as an apparent murder-suicide the shooting deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found at the historic Beverly Hilton.
The bodies were found with gunshot wounds Friday night at the hotel at 9876 Wilshire Blvd. at 10:50 p.m. They were not identified, but police said the male 70-years-old and the woman was 56.
The Beverly Hilton was the scene of the death of pop singer Whitney Houston in February.
The hotel is hosting the Daytime Emmy Awards Saturday afternoon and there didn't appear to be a connection to the event, police said.
Both are believed to have been long-time residents of the hotel.
Beverly Hills Police Detectives are still on scene and the incident is currently under investigation. There is no known motive for the shooting at this time, and although it is suspected to have been a murder-suicide, police are not currently ruling out any other possibilities.
