Santa Ana School to Remain Open After Rain Damage

Authorities said a Santa Ana school was safe enough to remain open Monday after reports of a possible roof collapse due to rainfall.

The damage was reported in an office building at Monroe Elementary School located at 714 East Central Avenue, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.

When fire crews arrived, they discovered a water build up after one of the drains at the school was clogged. The build up caused leakage and water to enter into a room.

Because classrooms were not affected, classes will remain in session, school officials said.

No further details were immediately available.
