Two people were wounded Tuesday afternoon following a possible road rage incident that ended in a freeway shooting and stabbing in San Bernardino County.
Police were called to the 10 Freeway in Colton in reference to a possible road rage incident. They found one car in the eastbound lanes of the 10 Freeway near the Mount Vernon Avenue offramp and another vehicle up on the embankment of the Mount Vernon exit.
The drivers were involved in a road rage incident about 4 or 5 miles west of the crime scene, according to the Colton Police Department.
The driver in a silver car shot the other driver who was in a black car, striking him in the chest area. Both cars continued eastbound on the 10 Freeway. The victim then sideswiped or rammed the suspect’s vehicle, sending that car up an embankment.
Both drivers exited their vehicles and began to fight on the freeway, police said.
The driver with the gunshot wound then stabbed the man who shot him.
Both were taken to the hospital with upper body trauma.
