Another Quake Rattles San Jacinto in Less Than 2 Weeks

The epicenter of both quakes was in a San Jacinto residential neighborhood, according to the USGS

Less than two weeks after a 3.7-magnitude earthquake jolted the Riverside County city of San Jacinto, a second temblor rattled the same area Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The magnitude-3.1 quake struck at 3:16 p.m. at a depth of about 8 miles, the USGS said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Sunday’s quake was an aftershock of a widely felt tremor that hit on Sept. 2. The epicenter of both quakes was located in a San Jacinto residential neighborhood in the 900 block of Yorkshire Lane, according to the USGS.
