Police suspect the driver who ran a stop sign on a rural Grundy County road, slammed into another car and killed its three occupants, had been drinking.

Traffic signals  are being changed, starting Saturday, to herald the New Year in Pasadena.

The City of Pasadena is removing overhead traffic lights and signal arms at 14 major intersections starting today, part of the annual series of changes to make way for the Tournament of Roses Parade.

City engineers have to remove the left-turn signals and other traffic control devices that arch over onto Colorado Boulevard as part of the annual ritual. Over-height floats will, of course, be cruising down the street this Thursday.

Pasadena officials urged motorists to use caution in the central part of the city, where the normal traffic light configuration has changed.
