But some drivers didn't mind the delay.

"It's not inconvenient at all. I'm excited," said Bel Air resident, Chantell Smith.

The president is reaching into the deep pockets of big donors, but the political relationship may be strained.

President Obama recently did an about face on his support for two congressional bills designed to fight on-line piracy.

Film industry insiders says this type of theft is costing the US, and especially Southern California, jobs, while enriching foreign internet sites.

Representatives of the Motion Picture Association of America hope the President felt pressure from the guests, to champion their industry the way he has others.

"It time that they start holding politicians accountable, for what they're going to do for this industry," according to Ben Sheffner, of the Motion Picture Association of America.

On Thursday morning President Obama will head down to Corona del Mar, then will fly to San Francisco aboard Air Force One about 11 A.M.
