A 4.3 magnitude earthquake shook near Lucerne Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The earthquake occurred at 10:13 p.m. at a depth of two near the high desert community of Lucerne Valley, 25 miles north of Big Bear.
It was felt in places as far away as Laughlin, Nevada and Santa Barbara, according to the USGS.
Residents reported feeling the earthquake in Lake Los Angeles, Apple Valley, Victorville, North Hollywood, Laguna Niguel, Fontana, Beaumont, and Palmdale.
