A small earthquake has shaken the Inyo County desert in central California, but there have been no reports of damage or injuries.

The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed a 4.1-magnitude quake hit at 11:06 a.m. Tuesday, about five miles southeast of Keeler, a small unincorporated town next to Owens Lake in the foothills of the Eastern Sierra.

The sheriff's office has not received any reports of damage. County dispatcher Mike Nash says he did not feel the quake.
