Rain, Snow to Continue Until Early Monday

Thunderstorms and hail are possible in some parts of the region

Periods of rain and snow are expected to continue on and off throughout the night Sunday, as a storm from California’s northern coast moves through the Southland.

Temperatures will get down to 40 degrees in the San Fernando Valley, 44 degrees in Santa Monica and 27 degrees in Palmdale. In San Bernardino, the low Sunday night is expected to be about 37 degrees.

Moisture in the air will be high, and snow is possible in the mountains, high desert and other areas, possibly as low as 3,500 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather is expected to clear up but remain cool on Monday, and showers are expected to return by Friday.

High winds are expected in mountains and deserts, with gusts of up to 45 miles per hour. Isolated thunderstorms and hail are also possible.
