Prentice Tonell Grant, Sr., is accused of shooting two people, injuring one and killing the other.

A 55-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting in Redlands that killed a woman and wounded a man, police said Friday.

Prentice Tonell Grant, Sr., 55, of Redlands, was arrested in connection with the shooting that happened Friday afternoon, police said. The shooting left a 28-year-old man during an argument. A stray bullet killed a woman after she tried to duck behind a trash bin.

Redlands Police Department responded to the 600 block of East Brockton Avenue after several callers heard gunshots, officials said.

"There was at least six or seven," said Jessie Rueda, a nearby resident. "And then I heard kids screaming and people yelling, 'No, no, no.'"

Angelica Templos, the dead woman's niece, said her aunt and her boyfriend were passing out fliers to help raise money for the funeral of her father, who was killed last month.

"Innocent people's lives are being involved for no reason," Templos said.
