Pedestrian Struck in Redondo Beach

Nov. 1, 2012: Police cordoned off a portion of Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach after a minivan struck a pedestrian near Pearl Street.

A pedestrian was struck by a minivan in Redondo Beach Thursday night, authorities said.

The crash happened at Pacific Coast Highway and Pearl Street at about 8 p.m., according to a dispatcher for the Redondo Beach police and fire departments.

The northbound lanes of PCH were closed at Ruby Street, and southbound lanes were closed at Pearl Street while police investigated the crash, according to the Daily Breeze.

The dispatcher said the condition of the pedestrian or the circumstances of the collision were not immediately clear.
