Repairs Continue on Gold Line, More Delays

The work is continuing at the intersection of Monterey Road and Pasadena Avenue

More major delays are expected as repairs continue on damaged overhead wires on the  Metro Gold Line in South Pasadena Friday.

The work is continuing at the intersection of Monterey Road and Pasadena Avenue, a Metro spokesman said. The work was estimated to be completed at 1 p.m. Friday, and the intersection remains closed to through traffic.

The damage occurred at around 10 p.m. Wednesday, and caused a southbound Gold Line train to get stuck in South Pasadena.

It will be running with delays of approximately 20 to 30 minutes due to trains sharing one track in the impacted area. Nearly all  running services will be longer, three-car trains.

Some southbound trains will turn back at Fillmore Station to allow for more frequent service in Pasadena, and some northbound trains will turn back at Union Station to allow for more frequent service to East Los Angeles

Customers boarding at Lake Station to DTLA can use Metro Express 485, those boarding at Sierra Madre Villa Station to DTLA can use the Metro Express 487. Commuters at Southwest Museum or Highland Park, consider using Metro Local 81 instead on nearby Figueroa.
