Meat thermometer
Authorities arrested a suspect in the stabbing of a man at a movie theater.
The weapon? A meat thermometer.
It all started in a Lancaster theater when a woman was talking on her cell phone while watching a movie. While "Shutter Island" was being shown, "a woman was on the phone, likely one of the suspects' girlfriend, and the victim asked her to turn it off," Detective Richard Cartmill of the Lancaster sheriff's station said earlier.
The victim was then attacked by the woman's boyfriend and another man. Deputies say he was stabbed in the neck with a meat thermometer.
A second victim attempted to intervene and was also stabbed. Both victims are expected to recover.
On Wednesday, the Board of Supervisors agreed to offer a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Landry Boullard, according to Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore. He told the LA Times that Boullard was taken into custody at 2 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 800 block of East Avenue H-6 in Lancaster.
He was booked on suspicion of attempted murder. Bond was set at $1 million.
An anonymous tip led detectives to the home.
