Police were searching for two young men who allegedly tried to pull a woman into their truck Sunday in Riverside, and detectives released a sketch of one of the suspects, a lieutenant said.

The alleged attempted kidnapping took place about 6:15 a.m. when the woman was walking on Market Street near the river bottom bridge, just north of Rivera Street, according to Riverside police Lt. Dan Hoxmeier.

The woman told police the truck pulled up and two Hispanic men began talking to her, when suddenly the passenger got out, grabbed her and tried to pull her into the truck, Hoxmeier said. The woman was able to break free and run away. The suspects then fled the scene.

Police released a sketch of the passenger who got out of the truck. He was described as Hispanic, between 20 and 30 years-old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He also had black hair and a ponytail. The other suspect was only described as a Hispanic male, Hoxmeier said.

A copy of the sketch is available from Riverside police at 951-354-2007. Anyone with information on these suspects was asked to call Riverside police Detective Rick Cobb at 951-353-7135. All tips can be made anonymously.
