Robbers Pose as Cops During Home Invasion in Canyon Country

The robbers forced their way into the home and handcuffed the owners while the third robber ransacked the home.

Officials are looking for three robbers who pretended to be members of law enforcement before invading a Southern California home early Wednesday morning.

The home invasion occurred on the 27000 block of Hermes Lane in Canyon Country around 3:30 a.m.

The homeowner, George Avakian, said the men claimed to be narcotics officers.

"'We gonna put you down,' kind of things," Avakian said the men told him.

Two of the robbers were armed with guns and one was not, the homeowner said.

The robbers forced their way into the home and handcuffed the owners while the third robber ransacked the home. He said they put a pistol to his head.

Sheriff's detectives spent the night trying to get to the bottom of the case after connecting Avakian's address to a marijuana bust in March. Several dozen plants were confiscated from the house, they said.

“We have no indication at this time that there's any relation between earlier incidents and today's incident,” said Sheriff’s Dep. Josh Dublin.

Avakian said he didn't know why his home was targeted.

"I'm 54-years-old. What you going to take? Little bit life left from me?" he said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies are investigating.
