Police detained a robbery suspect who had barricaded himself inside a building in North Hills Friday morning, following a standoff in which authorities had asked the public to avoid the area.

The man had been holed up in the 9100 block of Sepulveda Boulevard (map), the Los Angeles Police Department said.

LAPD's Mission Division asked the public to stay away in an alert send out shortly before 10:30 a.m.

By 11:45 a.m., the suspect was being wheeled on a gurney into a waiting ambulance. It was not clear what had happened to the man.
